For the 38th South Shropshire Circular, we pay our first visit to the Parish Hall in Minsterley.  The hill country around Minsterley offers some of the most attractive and varied terrain within the Shropshire Hills AONB and can be demanding in winter. As always for the Circular, the route will remain secret until registration when you will be given a clear and accurate route description (the route will be 25 miles with a 10 hour time limit).  The splendid Parish Hall is on the A488, in the centre of the village, some 7 miles SW of the A5 Shrewsbury by-pass.  The Post Code is SY5 0EH and the grid reference SJ 375 050.  For overnight accommodation, there are many excellent B&Bs and pubs within a few miles and plentiful accommodation in Shrewsbury.

The car parks will open from 06.30 and the LDWA Marches Team will welcome you in the Parish Hall from 06.45 for Registration, a simple breakfast and issue of the Route Description, which is written for use with  the following OS Explorer sheets at 1:25 000: 216 "Welshpool & Montgomery", 217 "Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge”, 241 “Shrewsbury”.  The route will be divided into four legs and the Route Description gives the grid reference of each “self-clip” passage control point and the serviced checkpoints, with a reliable indication of the best line between them.  A short route may be applied if necessary.  There will be a briefing at 07:50 and a mass start at 08:00.  A hot meal, endless tea and a fine certificate will greet your return to Minsterley Parish Hall.

This is sheep country and we're sorry but dogs cannot be brought on this event.
