The River South Tyne is born in the North Pennines and offers a very different landscape to that of the North Tyne Trail. The 70km route shows the rivers’ many different moods from tinkling trickle to majestic wilderness as it passes through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) that includes waterfalls and deep ravines, making its way towards the finish at the ‘Meeting of the Waters’ at Warden.
