Info: New entries for this event closed on Monday 6th May 2019.
Starting and finishing at Carrickfergus Castle, Co Antrim, the event includes half and full marathon distance. Both courses are predominantly run on trails, lanes, forest paths and rural roads and will give runners spectacular views of Belfast Lough.
Both events are self-sufficient, and runners will be provided with a detailed roadbook to self-navigate the course, providing a unique opportunity to challenge yourself in a new way. There will be no signage or marshals on the course, so you need to follow the roadbook (no compass or additional map required).
As there is no access to naturally occurring water on the course and as this is a self-sufficient event runner must carry their own food and water. This is a challenging course so runners should exercise their own common sense and carry adequate water and food supplies for the distance. These must be shown at registration.
Time limits of 4 hours for the half and 8 hours for the full marathon will be imposed.
As this is our inaugural event which we will use to measure interest in this type of self-sufficient running, we have kept the entry fee low.
All runners will receive post-race refreshments, a road book and a beanie.
Marathon Start time: 9.00am. Half Marathon Start time: 9.30am
Race Numbers collected on the day at registration.
