On again, for one year only, by popular request. The Dartmoor Kanter is a challenge walk visiting one of the main Dartmoor reservoirs.

The event is a self-navigating challenge walk of 14m, 19m or 24m over open moorland, bridleways, lanes and footpaths with no route description provided.

Entrants are given a list of grid references to be visited over the course of their chosen route distance. Questions relating to the grid reference locations are issued on the day and suggested routes are also available at the start. It is essential that entrants have the skills to read a map and navigate in adverse weather conditions. A suggested route and .gpx file of the suggested route will be available with the grid references.

This event is self-supporting with refreshments provided by the organisers at the start and a light meal at the finish only. There are no checkpoints anywhere enroute and walkers need to carry enough food and drink for the day.

A certificate is given to each entrant completing the walk.

Start: The Village Hall, Meldon, EX20 4LU GR SX 56033 92368

There is limited parking provision at the hall but there is a public car park at the reservoir a few hundred yards away.
