Take a walk on the pink side, let’s beat breast cancer together!

Sponsored walk along the beautiful Thames riverside in September 2019. Walking South & East from Abindon, you will pass through stunning countryside and picturesque villages as you wind your way to a triumphant finish at Beale Park. Choose from the full marathon, a half marathon or a 10 kilometre walk.

We will provide you with full support including a Breast Walk Ever fundraising pack full of helpful tips for training and fundraising. You can also purchase a brand new 2019 Breast Walk Ever T-shirt and we will even throw in a free massage at the end to help ease those aches and pains.

All we ask is that each participant sets themselves a target to raise £50 towards our research into the secondary spread of Breast Cancer.

Routes & Transportation

Walkers may opt to walk a marathon (26 miles), a half marathon (13 miles) or a 10k - distances are approximate.

  • Full Marathon – Abingdon to Beale Park
  • Half Marathon – Wallingford to Beale Park
  • 10k – Goring on Thames to Beale Park

All 3 routes finish at Beale Park - Lower Basildon, Pangbourne, Reading RG8 9NW.

Free transportation will be provided from Beale Park to take participants from Beale Park car parks to their chosen starting points.

PLEASE NOTE: no transport will be available from Beale Park when you have finished.

Start times

  • Marathon Start (9am): Hales Meadow Carpark, A415, Abingdon OX14 3NN
  • Half Marathon Start (11am): Riverside Carpark, Wallingford, OX10 8EB
  • 10KM Start (12pm): Goring On Thames Village Hall, B4009, Goring, Reading RG8 9AG

Routes will be fully signposted and marshalled with support stations at regular intervals.

In order to successfully navigate the route, walkers will be issued with directional maps and areas identified as requiring clarification of the rote will be signed with pink arrows (to be removed following the event). As a backup, all walkers will receive a sheet at registration with final instructions and phone numbers to contact in an emergency.

Anyone aged under 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

A maximum of 1000 walkers will be allowed entry into the event. A sweep marshal will be in place to confirm that the route is clear.

Whatever you choose we ask you to support our ground-breaking breast cancer research through your training and participation.

We receive no government funding and are entirely reliant on the generosity of our supporters to fund our research. We ask that each walker set a target to raise at least £50. The team at Against Breast Cancer is on hand to help you achieve just that.
