Buses will be running from the finish area to the car park at Spectrum Business Park at regular intervals at the end of the race.

Course Description
The course is entirely off road, it is extremely challenging and very scenic. It is characterised by gently undulating sections along the cliff top coastal path interspersed with challenging descents and ascents through a series of denes. There are many steps to tackle along the way (approx 320). There is also a section through the picturesque woodland of Hawthorn Dene nature reserve. The course is approximately 13.1 miles and has been measured using GPS.

There are MANY obstacles and trip hazards along the route especially through the wooded sections.

The footpaths are NOTclosed to the public so please be courteous to users and you do not have complete right of way ( please remember this), footpath users have been warned and informed of the event.

The route will be heavily marked using yellow and black arrows, red and white barrier tape and yellow spray marker, there will be marshals along the route wearing high viz jackets.

Race HQ, Toilets and Start Area
Race HQ will be situated in a gazebo or membership vehicle by the car park at Nose’s Point. There will be ample (6) portable loos situated in the car park. Please be ready to assemble at the start line on the path in front of race HQ before 11:00.

Race Numbers
Please attach your race number to the front of your body so it can be clearly seen and please fill in all information on the back of the numbers.

Water Stations
There are three water stations along the route with plenty of water and sweets. Water will also be available at the finish. If you use gels or other sports nutrition on the course, please do not litter. Leave any litter either at the water station or hang on to it and dispose of it responsibly yourself.

Anyone found deliberatley dropping litter will not be allowed entry the following year ( and wont get cake at the end!!!!)

First Aid
First aiders will be present throughout the race and will be at numerous points along the route. A medical technician will also follow the race on a mountain bike. If you require assistance please advise a race marshal or the sweeper who will call for assistance.

Finish Area
The finish area is on the grass close to the car park at Crimdon Dene near pony world. Please stay in the order you finish as you move through the finishing funnel.

Tape and signs along with marshals will guide you to the finish of the event. (look out for FINISH feather flags) Upon entering the finish, you will not officially finish until you give your race number and have your time manually recorded at the race finish. It is your responsibility to ensure the staff take your number and record your finish, as they will not have enough time to chase individuals for finish numbers and or times.

Prizes and Refreshments
All runners will receive a t-shirt and a medal. In addition each runner in entitled to a free cup of tea and piece of cake at the refreshment stand.

There will be prizes for the first three men and ladies, as well as prizes for age category winners. The prize presentation will take place at approximately 2pm outside the refreshments tent. Any runners not able to collect their prize will be sent it through the post.

Timing and Results
We will publish the full race results as soon as possible after the event. They will appear on our facebook page as well as the National Trust website.

I will also email results to all entrants if possible and send results to future races north east.

Please be patient as clearing the route of all markers, tape and rubbish ( energy gel packets and water bottles ) is the first thing we have to ensure after the event.

Make sure you are familiar with the route, as shown attached with this document and on our race entry website. There will be marshals and signs, but navigation of the course always remains the responsibility of the runner. Bring appropriate footwear for the race and weather conditions, it is very difficult to advise what to wear as conditions can change overnight.
