The 2019 Yorkshire 3 Peaks Ultra is an adventure for all ultra-racers, from first timers all the way to elite athletes. The route runs through superb and inspiring North Yorkshire scenery over classic limestone trails. Racers' reviews of race include "The best ultra I've ever raced"   "A instant classic"   "Fantastic experience"   "A gem of a race"

Start and finish is at the Hawes Market House and follows in the footsteps of Roman Legions over the Cam Road before taking the Yorkshire three peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent, returning along the Cam Road. Total distance 70 Km.

New for 2019 is an optional 30km extension, making the total distance up to 100km. Simply enter the 70km Y3P Ultra as normal on Si-Entries. On race day, you start at the same time as the 70km race. Then, provided you finish the 70km race back at Hawes by midnight (15 hours) you then have the option either continue onto the additional 30km course, or stop and receive your 70km medal (and trophy for the winners). The additional 30km course is from Hawes, over Great Shunner Fell to Thwaite and back to Hawes. (There is no additional fee to race the extra 30km and complete the 100km option. The total race time allowed for the 100km race is 24 hours)

Should you not be able to complete the extra 30km you will still receive a 70km medal. However, racers continuing onto the 30km forfeit eligability for trophies at the 70km distance. i.e. if the first place at 70km race continues onto the extra 30km (the 100km race) then they cannot recieve trophies for both the 70km and the 100km race. The winners trophy for the 70km race passes back to the next finisher who chooses to finish at the 70km distance in Hawes.

The course is run over established trails, with generous cut off times. There will be Ranger Safety Team support at HQ, road head and hill top locations. Water, snacks, hot soup will be provided at road heads. Indoor hall accommodation is available on Friday and Saturday night for racers (bring sleeping bag and mat). There is pasta dinner and hot drinks for all racers at the finish and breakfast on Sunday morning.  Finishers medals and place categories.

Course notes and GPX file will be regularly emailed to all entries in the build up to the race.
