Celebrating the best of London's green spaces, the route uses almost completely mud-free paths through public parks, fine town squares, waterways and green spaces. There are 4 checkpoints, 2 with simple refreshments.  Start & finish are at cafés close to public transport. This is an urban walk that passes a wide variety of shops and cafés along much of its length.  There is a limit of 200 entrants.  This event is for walkers only.

Route:  Crossing the Thames from the South Bank, the route passes through three Royal Parks; then, partly following canals, it reaches Regents Park and Primrose Hill, then Hampstead Heath. After Highgate Wood the route follows an old railway line to Finsbury Park; the New River and Woodberry Wetlands lead to Clissold Park, Abney Park and Springfield Park. The River Lea takes you past Walthamstow Marshes to finish at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Details of the route, a route description, GPX file and map can be found on the event website:

You will need a copy of the route description on the day.  We also recommend having access to a supplementary map such as an OS map, an A-Z, or a map on your phone.

Start between 0800 and 0900 from the crypt of St John's Church, Waterloo (73 Waterloo Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 8TY).  Hot drinks will be provided.  The start is close to Waterloo Station (mainline and tubes) and a short walk from Embankment Station (District, Circle, Bakerloo and Northern tube lines).

Finish by 1900 at The View Tube café, The Greenway, Marshgate Lane, London, E15 2PJ [TQ378837]. A hot drink and cake will be provided. From the finish there is easy access to public transport at Pudding Mill Lane DLR; it is 1 mile from Stratford (mainline and tube).
