Event Organiser - The Mad Hatter

Three trail races covering some of the best hills and scenery in West Fife & the adjoining area with enough elevation to test the keenest of runners.

Choose either the Half Marathon distance, we're calling it the Mad Haffer! (22.4k/14m), the Marathon distance (46k/28m) or the Ultra Marathon route (65k/40m) to test your legs.
With generous cut-off times, we're sure you'll be able to be one of the first folks to gain another (or your first) unique Adventures into Wonderland Finishers medal.

The Ultra runners will commence at 07:00 on the 2nd February with the Marathon runners setting off at 09:00 and the Half will commence at 11:00. All courses will close at 17:00.
We will have check points along route with drop bag at certain locations. Check points will have water and snacks available should you require a top up.

Drop bags will be available at locations along the route.

As the event is run in Winter, mandatory kit will be required as if it were a hill race, i.e. full body cover, headtorch, etc. Further details will be provided on exact nature of kit required.

All routes are held predominately on Fife's and Perth & Kinross' core path network. This is very little in the way of tarmac. Both routes will be fully marked so no navigation experience is necessary.
GPX files are available for all race lengths.

All routes have been chosen to provide, what we think are, great trails to run on, some great scenery (let's hope the weather is kind on the day), a smattering of hills to test the legs and some great downhill section so you can FLY.

Facilities: Parking (overnight if needed), on site cafe, changing, toilets & showers.

If bringing the family along to cheer you on, there's things for them to do too.

  • walking,
  • picnicking and barbecuing,
  • bird-watching,
  • cycling
  • beach and adventure playground for children.

There will be first aid cover for the event.
Food will be available after your adventure.

All finishers will receive a unique medal and a little goody bag.

No previous trail running experience required. Basically, If you think you can finish either option, enter.
