Event car parking for entrants will be sent out with the final details as we are unable to use  Safran Power Systems car park this year.

Further details will be available to download when grid reference sheets are available 

08.00-0830 for 26 & 18 routes, 0830- 0900 for 13.mile route, 0900-0915 for runners.

All must aim to finish by 18.00hrs. The hall will close at 19.00hrs. 

This is a map reading event. To complete a course on foot by a route of your own choice passing through a number of control points within a given time limit.   There will be three routes, one of  approx 13 miles, one of approx 18 miles and one of approx 26 miles. 

The walk follows mainly field paths, tracks and woods through undulating countryside, with good views from the hills traversed. 

DOGS:   No dogs are allowed in halls, must be on lead at all times and have third party liability insurance

O/S 1:50000 Landranger 165 & 166 or O/S 1:25000 Explorer 181 are needed to cover all 3 routes.  

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MUG. A pen or pencil is essential. Waterproofs, map cover, compass and torch (spare batteries and bulb) if finishing after dark are advisable. 

If you retire, PLEASE let an official know. Transport will be provided back to the start from the checkpoints. 

There will be refreshments at 3 checkpoints on the 26 mile route. 2 checkpoints on the 18 mile route & 1 checkpoint on the 13 mile route but you should also bring some food and drink with you. At the end of the walk a hot meal will be served. 

Each entrant who answers the questions correctly will be awarded a certificate. Badges will be on sale. Results will be sent to those who address an envelope at the hall and will also be published on the BBN website. Postage is included in the entry fee


There will be no entries on the day.
Refund on cancellation before 17th February 2019 £2.00 admin will be charged, after that date no refund will be paid.
