Event Organiser - Joe Faulkner

We have the experience and knowledge to help you develop your skills to a new level - enabling you to confidently and competently commit to ever more demanding challenges.  This course is perfect preparation for any mountain marathon such as the LAMM, OMM, Dark Mountains, GL3D, or ROC. It is equally suited to multi-day and expedition style events such as The Dragon’s Back, Cape Wrath, or ITERA, or simply linear 'ultras' on marked or unmarked routes

Don’t worry though – you don’t need super speed or fitness to benefit – just a desire to travel efficiently through the mountains.   What makes the Mountain Running Essentials course different is that it is designed and delivered by mountain runners with real event experience, and director by Joe Faulkner and his team of professional outdoor facilitators. Take a look at the NAV4 Adventure team profiles to see our vast experience and backgrounds.

The course is taught on a 4:1 client tutor ratio and based from the high quality Lakeland Lodge bookhouse, in Ullswater. It's a highly evolved and rewarding programme, focusing on navigation and moving efficiently through wilder terrain. Much of time is spent outdoors, and culminates with a mini ‘event’ on Sunday.  Indoor sessions discuss the full range of subjects dear to us all; training, nutrition, hydration, race strategy, clothimg, shoes, equipment, etc.

The full cost is £225.00 inclusive of two nights B&B, two breakfasts and Saturday evening dinner.   Other local accommodation options are available.

Arrive Friday evening or early Saturday morning, to suit your own travel needs. Course starts formally at 9am Saturday.

Places are limited to just 12 people.
