L100 Recce 1: Coniston - Buttermere

The recce days always prove extremely popular and will be repeated to allow you to familiarise yourself with the course and meet your friends and fellow runners! Each recce day costs £30 to register and this includes the coach transport, medical support and 'basic' refreshments at checkpoints. Full details will be sent out 1 week prior to each of the dates.

Sun 7th March 2027 – Recce 1 - Coniston - Buttermere

Sat 24th April 2027 – Recce 2, the evening recce - Ambleside - Coniston (2027 event competitors only)

Sun 9th May 2027 – Recce 3 - Buttermere - Pooley Bridge

Sun 6th June 2027 – Recce 4 - Pooley Bridge to Ambleside (2027 event competitors only)

RECCE 1 - CONISTON TO BUTTERMERE

This is the first part of the 100 course (not the 50 course) and is 26 miles in total from Coniston to Buttermere. It is challenging terrain with Black Sail Pass and Scarth Gap, slower runners will finish in the dark. Full kit is required as per event website and there are cut off times in place at the checkpoints so you must ensure you are fit enough to make these cut offs prior to starting the recce.
