This is an adaptation of the Whitby Abbey Lands Walk, 50 miles and approximately 6,000 feet ascent, 22 hours to complete.

We meet at Ravenscar, at the visitors centre at 07:45 for a 08:00 start, there's lots of free parking there and a good selection of accommodation and pubs a few miles away at Robin Hoods Bay.

From Ravenscar  we join The Cleveland Way and following a stunning coastal path through Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby.

At Sandsend we cut inland through Mulgrave Woods and  make our way to Grosmont then climb onto Sleights Moor and Breckon Howe.

Breckon Howe to Whinstone Ridge,  York Cross and Lilla Cross.

Lilla Cross to Langdale Forest, through the forrest to Langdale End.

Then up to the mast and back to Ravenscar.

What to expect on the day.

• Free parking for all entrants at Ravenscar.
• A minimum of five checkpoints. You can leave your spare gear in the back up vehicle with the bulk of your food, simply carry a light snack and we'll meet the back up crew at checkpoints.
• As with the Lyke Wake Walk Kathy and Len will be your guides on the day and we will split the group according to pace. Den will do our back up.

Who are we?

We are Kathy, Den and Len. Kathy and Den live in Stokesley, North Yorkshire within sight of the Cleveland Hills which form part of the Lyke Wake Walk, Cleveland Way and Coast to Coast. For many years we have led on guided and supported crossings of The Lyke Wake Walk, Kathy and Len guide and Den does the back up on our regular Lyke Wake Walks.

Many people who have done the Lyke Wake Walk with us wanted a different challenge walk and this is it! 

We’re here to answer all your questions and make sure you are fully prepared for an unforgettable experience and that you complete your walk safely.

Why choose us?

• We mainly do the Lyke Wake Walk and offer a separate challenge walk every year, always involving the North York Moors.
• Open group walks will have a maximum of 20 walkers which are split into different paced groups , we meet as strangers and quickly become a well functioning team.
