LOC Summer Series 4 - The Helm

Welcome to this year's Summer Series of 5 events. Each event will have a Long course, a Short course and both an Orange and easier Yellow course for newcomers and Juniors.

The Helm – A mixture of grazed open, rough open fell and areas of forest, with a complex path network.

Unsure which course to enter? The longer courses (Long and Short) will be technical courses designed for more experienced orienteers. The Yellow course is the easiest at this event, suitable for beginners and older children and the Orange course is designed for older Juniors, as they gain confidence and newcomer adults.

We encourage running in pairs or groups – it is a good way to start orienteering. To do this, enter the event using one person’s name, and please add the names of everyone accompanying in the ‘Additional names and ages’ box. You can also request extra maps, if required.

More details are available on the LOC website at https://www.lakeland-orienteering.org.uk/events.

Everyone who attends must follow the ‘Participation Codes of Conduct’ which can be found at the British Orienteering website.

A quick reminder for newcomers: If you’re not currently a member of British Orienteering, you won’t be covered by the organisation’s public liability insurance for this event. You’re very welcome to take part, but please be aware that you do so at your own risk.
