Canalathon-Ultra Running Festival
100km, 50km, Half Marathon, 10km
Join in these thrilling footraces across the Yorkshire & Lancashire Counties along the scenic Rochdale Canal.
The 100km is an 'out and back' course from Sowerby Bridge along well-maintained canal towpaths with minimal elevation. The 50km starts at Ancoats and ends in Sowerby taking in the full length of the Rochdale Canal. The 'Half-Marathon' starts near The Summit, Todmorden, ends at Sowerby Bridge with the 10km & 5km races starting and finishing in Sowerby Bridge too. Something for every lover of running.
Although the race is mainly held on hard, dry surfaces it is recommended that trail running shoes are worn.
The opportunity to record fast, flat miles over Ultra distances is not often achievable and, for this reason, we created The Canalathon Ultra. Minimal navigation, no hill climbing, just the drive to get from point A to B supported by Aid Stations along the way.
The Race HQ and finish for all distances is based at The Sowerby Bridge Cricket Club.
