The Stamford Striders' St Valentine 30K Race is the flagship event organised by the Club. It is run each year on the Sunday closest to St Valentine's Day. It is recognised nationally as a tough event, providing a good training race for those planning a spring marathon. The 2027 event will be the 33rd running of this prestigious event and will take place at 11:00 on Sunday 14th Feb 2027.
This is a club race organised by runners for runners. Famed for our enthusiastic marshals and efficient organisation, we will cheer you round this testing course.
The St Valentine’s 30K is ideal if your are training for a spring marathon . Please remember there will be no entries on the day and quite honestly, the race is likely to sell out well before the end of 2026!
After the success of last few years, runners who select "Trees Not Tees" will once again be able to contribute to TREES not TEES instead of receiving a race shirt, or you can have your cake and eat it with the option to have a shirt and plant a tree.
Our shirt sizes are an athletic fit and (as before) come up a bit small. Size up - if you know, you know! We suggest that a ladies size "S" is UK size 6-8, "M" is UK size 10-12.
Old Romantics that we are, if you are in a “genuine relationship” with another runner, why not register as a Valentine Pair? You’ll get a box of chocs from us, and your combined times might win you a couple’s prize. No, we don’t need to see marriage certificates or anything, but we do trust that you are a couple!
We hope you will appreciate that large sums of money will have been committed well ahead of the race, accordingly the race is subject to a NO REFUNDS POLICY regardless of the cause of the cancellation if you dropping out. To counter that we do run a very efficient transfer system to let you move your place to another runner you know or to someone on our waiting list and there is also now the option to insure yourself as part of the entry process.
