Finish Storr Lochs
The Trotternish Ridge Race this year will be its original route of Flodigary to Storr Lochs via Meal na Suiramach, Ben Edra and the Storr. Entries will be limited to 75 due to Nature Scot restrictions.
The distance is around 27km with approximately 2000m of ascent and descent.
The course will be unmarked and competitors are expected to make their way between unmanned checkpoints. Runners are expected to be competent with map and compass. The grid references will be released closer to the event as they are subject to NatureScot restrictions. Marshals will be on the course at CP 2 and 4. Water will be also be available at these points.
This is a Category A long race and competitors are required to have completed similar events or have relative experience in the last three years. Please get in touch with me if you're not sure if you meet the requirements.
The race will be run under Scottish Hill Runners kit requirements and all runners will be kit checked prior to the start. The organisers may insist that runners also carry a survival bag depending on weather conditions so please have one available.
Registration will take place at Portree High School between 0900 and 1000.
Runners will be transported by bus to the start and from the finish back to Portree. This is included in the race fee.
There will be a prize giving and light refreshments at the finish at Storr Lochs. Please note, we will not be hosting a meal afterwards as previously.
