Hammond's Pond is an enclosed urban park on the SE side of Carlisle which has not used for orienteering for many years.
Courses (provisional length measured in straight line)
Long (technical) 4.1km
Short (technical) 2.4km
Beginner 1.9km
Navigation in park areas is not especially difficult but expect a lot of controls with twists and turns to keep you thinking, particularly on the more technical long and short courses. See BL website for full information.
Groups and Pairs / Extra Maps
If you are new to orienteering and would like to go round as a group or in a pair, just enter one person and use the option to select any additional maps that your group would like at £1 each.
Coaching / New to Orienteering
There is no coaching at this event. However, if you are new to orienteering or unfamiliar with park orienteering techniques we will have someone available at enquiries who can explain what to expect.
Dibber Hire
Available by pre-order at no charge, £30 if not returned. To pre-order, leave the SI number blank during entry process, and then collect dibber from Enquiries/Download on the day.
Start and Finish
Start between 12:00 and 13:00. Start and finish are very close to enquiries/download. Courses close 14:15.

Portaloo in the car park.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs on leads.
Entry Cancellation / Change
If you are unable to make the event please let us know via the email address. If we are informed by the closing date we will provide a refund less £1 per person to cover admin costs. Before the closing date you can change your course by editing your entry online, but there will be very limited opportunity to change course on the day as maps will have been printed based on pre-entries.
