Forth Valley Orienteers is excited to bring you an orienteering extravaganza on a new LIDAR map in the world class Trossachs!
Scottish Middle Distance Champs will be held on Saturday 21st February 2026. Starts likely 1100-1300.
SOA’s Compass Sport Cup round will be held on Sunday 22nd February 2026. Starts likely 1030-1230.
Terrain: Both races will use the Trossachs. Minimal overlap between the days and competitors should get a fulfilling experience of all the best parts of the Trossachs.
Map: Brand new LIDAR map by legendary mapper Martin Bagness
Accommodation: 10 glamping pods, 13 serviced motorhome pitches and c40+ unserviced motorhome pitches available at Loch Katrine. Glamping pods at discounted rates especially for us. Please reserve accommodation directly via contacting the Loch Katrine pier using the details on the FVO website (see section "Miscellaneous").
Assembly: Indoor registration, parking on hard standing at the pier, toilets, café open etc.
Other activities: String course, maybe an ultra sprint/kids course (will be free of charge).
Entry dates: CSC entries firmly close on 8th February 2025 to allow for allocation of start time via team captains. Entries for the Scottish Middle champs briefly close on 8th Feb, then will reopen with +£1 entry fee until Sunday 15th February, with late entries (subject to map availibility) until Wednesday 18th February. [Note the current SI entries setup implies entries close 8th Feb for Scottish Middles but this will be reconfigured once the 8th Feb has passed to show the closing date of 15th Feb].
