The Chiltern Challenge is TVOC’s premier orienteering event of the year.  This event will take place in the beautiful Chiltern woods around the village of Christmas Common.  Longer courses will venture into two areas new to orienteering, Greenfield Copse and Howe Wood.

A range of courses are available.  For experienced orienteers, entries are being taken by class.  Most competitors will want to enter for your age class.  If you wish to run a longer course, then 'run up' by choosing an appropriate age class.  If you wish to run down, then choose an appropriate colour class.  The table of course lengths, age classes and colour classes can be found on the TVOC event page (link above).

If you are new to orienteering, Orange, Yellow and White courses are recommended.  These have less complex navigational challenges and are specifically designed for newcomers to the sport; help and advice will be available.  If you are an experienced map user, then you may like to try Light Green.

Car parking for the event is very limited.  Start times are therefore in two very distinct ranges, to facilitate reuse of the car park.  Those driving to the event will need to book a car park space as part of their entry.

Newcomers - please note that, if you’re not currently a member of British Orienteering, you won’t be covered by the organisation’s public liability insurance for this event. You’re very welcome to take part, but please be aware that you do so at your own risk. For example, if you were to accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property during the event, you would not be covered by British Orienteering's insurance.

White, Yellow and Orange courses have open start times.  Just turn up at the Start at any time.  These courses can be run as a family/small group if you prefer.
