Zero to Hero
A Beginners and Returning to Running Course from Holmfirth Harriers:
- Never run before?
- Are you wanting to start running for the first time?
- Or are you wanting to get back in to running after a long break?
- Get running with the Zero to Hero course from Holmfirth Harriers
NB this course is full but please join the waiting list and we’ll try to allocate you to one of our training groups.
Our Zero to Hero running course is designed to help absolute beginners enjoy becoming happy, safe runners capable of running 5k over a period of six weeks.
You don't need to be able to run right now. We'll start where your fitness is right now and progress together at the right pace for you. Nobody will be left behind !
You’ll learn about how to get in to running gradually and safely. Our experienced and qualified coaches, run leader and club members will help you build confidence gradually. We’ll build up distance and running on hills gradually so you can run 5k by the end of the 6 week course. If you are returning to running, we’ll help you increase your distance at the right rate for your body. If you already have some experience, we’ll help you train from 5km to the 10km distance.

Complete all 6 weeks and:
- Improve fitness and measure your progress
- Discover that running can be fun and enjoyable - even the hills (yes really!)
- Become a runner
