Welcome to the LOC Night West Night League event. The usual NWNL courses will be available - Blue, Green & Orange.
A whistle and headtorch are mandatory for these events and waterproofs maybe, depending on conditions on the night, please ensure you have them with you just in case.
Birkrigg Common is a delightful, exposed and runnable area of limestone with grassy paths (many of which are indistinct).
Unsure which course to enter? The longer courses (Long and Short) will be technical courses designed for more experienced orienteers. The Yellow course is the easiest at this event, suitable for beginners and older children.
We encourage running in pairs or groups – it is a good way to start orienteering. To do this, enter the event using one person’s name, and please add the names of everyone accompanying in the ‘Additional names and ages’ box. You can also request extra maps, if required.
