Howgills Skyline is a one day event with routes of 40km (MTB), 52km (GRVL), 65km (GRVL), 90km (MTB) and 104km (GRVL) on tracks and lanes on the moors and valleys slopes between Sedbergh, Orton, Kirby Stephen and Mallerstang.

Event Hub - Half n Half Sedbergh, 30 Main Street, Sedbergh, LA10 5BL
Start line - Registration opens from 8am with tea or coffee and home made cake to get you fueled up. There is no mass start as riders depart when they are ready from 8.15am - 10am.
Finish line - Half n Half is open to all members of the public and so on your return you are welcome to drop into the bar and enjoy their selection of food and drink as a member of the public.
GPX file - Field tested gpx files will be sent to your email address by 28/04/2026 (Tuesday prior to the event).
Trails - The two mtb routes (40km & 65km) take riders up the the Calf and along the remote moorland singletrack in Bowderdale whilst the 52km and 65km gravel bike routes head to Cautley Spout and onto Pendragon Castle in Mallerstang (GRVL 1) with the 104km EPIC on country lanes to the west and then onto Kirkby Stephen and over to Mallerstang and Garsdale.
Route preference - Riders receive the full set of GPX routes so they can decide on the day which route to ride and, if it suits them, swap between routes when out on the trail. There is no need to indicate prior to the event which route you prefer as fitness and goals change.
Bonus - All riders receive a Howgills Skyline bike sticker.
Parking - There are a number of large car parks in the town. A map of their location will be sent out in the final email
Railway - The neatest train station to Sedbergh is Dents on the Leeds to Carlisle train line.
Pennine Skyline - The Howgills Skyline event is part of a long weekend of three events with start lines in Mytholmroyd to ride the South Pennines on Saturday 2nd May, Settle on Sunday to ride the Yorkshire Dales and Sedbergh on Monday to ride the Howgills. The event is called the Pennine Skyline:
