Leg 4 starts brutally with a direct ascent of Yewbarrow, one of the steepest climbs on the entire round—excellent training for managing early fatigue. We then continue over Red Pike, Scoat Fell, Steeple, traverse to Pillar, and make the long ridge crossing to Kirk Fell. The climb of Great Gable provides classic rocky, demanding terrain before the runnable drop into Honister.
