Local urban orienteering event in Penrith as part of the North West Urban League (NWUL).
Everyone welcome. Either enter your age class, especially if you are looking for points in the NWUL rankings, or one of the open courses if you would prefer.
Terrain: Urban, footpaths and parkland.
Courses:
Course 1 - 8.0km, 120m climb - M Open, M Vet 40+, W Open, Open1
Course 2 - 5.8km, 70m - M Supervet 55+, M Ultravet 65+ W Vet 40+, W Supervet 55+, Open2
Course 3 - 3.5km, 50m - M Hypervet 75+ W Ultravet 65+, W Hypervet 75+, Open3
Course 4 - 3.8km, 60m - M/W16-, Open4
Course 5 - 1.5km, 40m - M/W12-, Open5
The course lengths give optimum distance.
Important Note: Juniors aged under 16 on the day must run courses 4 or 5 and must be accompanied by an adult. This is because all courses cross roads. It is recommended that accompanying adults run their own course first.
Courses 1 – 4 cross several main roads through the town. Pedestrian crossing points (pelican lights or zebras) are marked on the map and are recommended to be used.
Starts: 11.00am – 12.30pm
The start is located right outside the event centre. The finish is remote and will require a short distance of navigation back to the event centre.
There will entry on the day available for all courses subject to map availability.
