A counter in the 2026 English Fell Running Championships.
The route starts and finishes at the Hawkshead Mill, Hope Street in Glossop.
Starting from the Hawkshead Mill in Glossop, Doctors Gate is a 12.7 mile fell race with nearly 3000 ft of ascent. The route takes you along the old packhorse route out of Old Glossop to where it meets the Pennine Way, before heading to Higher Shelf Stones, then on to Lower Shelf Stones. After returning to Doctors Gate, the route then climbs James Thorn, via Shelf Benches, before returning to Old Glossop via Dog Rock, Torside Clough and Cock Hill.
There will be food provided at the finish, with a presentation and prizes at the end.
