Terrain: Runnable woodland in the west of the area, and denser woodland in the more contoured east, with prominent streams throughout. There is a good network of paths to aid navigation. Epping New Road splits the area in two – longer courses will use the western part and road crossings will be timed out/marshalled.

Start/Finish: Both start and finish will be c.400m from the village hall. Allow 5-10 mins walk.
Parking: At the village hall, limited - there are 80 spaces, free of charge. Overflow parking will be on local residential roads. Please travel by public transport (see below for directions) to the event centre, car share, if you can, or tell us (on SI Entries) if you are travelling by car.
Directions: From M25/North, J26: take the A121, direction Loughton. After c.1.5 miles at the roundabout on the Epping New Road, take the 3rd exit, Coppice Row/B172, to Theydon Bois. The village hall is c.1.5 miles on the left.
From A406/South: From the A406/M11 J4, take the M11 heading north, then at J5, exit onto Chigwell/Rectory Ln/A1168. Follow this for c.1 mile, then turn right at the mini roundabout onto Goldings Hill/A121. After c.1.5 miles at the roundabout on the Epping New Road, take the 4th exit and continue as above.
By public transport: Take the Central Line to Theydon Bois. Exit the station onto Station Approach, then Forest Drive. After 100m turn right on Coppice Row – after a further 300m the village hall is on your right. Allow 5-10 minutes walk from the station.
