*SPUNCH* GLOSSOP with Start2Jog
Start window: 1pm to 3pm Can be done solo, in a pair, or as a group of 3 or more. Each participant needs to put in an individual entry EXCEPT accompanied youngsters under 18 who go for FREE (when accompanied by a paying adult who must be 21+). Juniors aged 16 and above can run/walk alone with parental permission - in this case they need their own individual entry at the standard adult rate. A waterproof map of the course is provided to ALL participants. Please enter early for the best rates and to help with planning for maps, parking, event officials and catering.

Saturday afternoon Spunch in collaboration with the local community running group Start2Jog Glossop
From Pico Lounge, Unit 3/4, Howard Town, Victoria St, Glossop SK13 8HT. For runners, walkers, friends & families. Suitable for all ages & abilities - no previous experience required. Locals and newcomers always welcome.
Being on the same afternoon as the Glossop Christmas Lights Switch-On, there will be lots else going on in the town centre including Christmas stalls, live music, the Glossop old band and late night shopping. Come along with friends & family and make a full afternoon of it.
A big sporty treasure hunt with a difference - A fun, friendly & safe mini-adventure with a unique & colourful map. Run or walk. 2k to 22k, the choice is yours! Go solo, pair or in a group of 3 or more. We can usually pair you up on the day if you prefer not to go alone. Lots of help available for newbies.
Dogs are welcome too, but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
Registration, Help, Bag Drop, Loos, Start, Finish, Food & Drink all at or very near the venue. Parking available nearby in the town centre car parks or street-side all within 5-10 mins walk.
60, 90 and 120 min course duration options (you can choose on the afternoon itself).

Just 20 mins from M67 J4. Convenient for Oldham, Ashton-under-Lyne, Stalybridge, Mottram, Hyde, Denton, Romiley, Marple, Stockport, Poynton, Disley, New Mills, Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Chinley & Hayfield etc.
Catch the Spunch Train: Glossop Train Station is just 400m flat walk away from the venue.
Start at your convenience anytime between 1pm & 3pm. (Last start for 90 min course is 230pm, last start for 120 min course is 2pm). Registration open from 1pm.
Using a specially prepared map, visit as many checkpoints as you can in the time available, S-punching using the MapRun app on your smartphone, Garmin or Apple Watch.
A much-overdue first visit to Glossop, and in collaboration with the local community running group Start2Jog. All-new territory for us for this Town & Country Spunch. There will be hilly, very hilly and much less hilly route options to suit everyone. There is a good network of paths both in and out of town, parkland and riverside trails as well as some more brutal ascents and descents on the surrounding hill sides.
Good running / walking on a mixture of underfoot conditions from tarmac to off-road paths*. There will be something for everyone and even locals will likely discover new paths and places!
The Pico Lounge will provide a warm welcome post-run or walk, with a great selection of food and drinks available. There are, of course, options for Vegetarians, Vegans and those who are GF. The venue is child & dog friendly.

TEAM SPUNCH
The 90 minute course at this event will also be used for a Team Spunch "Match". A Spunch Team can be made up of minimum 4 to maximum 7 people (with the best 4 scores aggregated to count). Teams can be from running clubs, walking groups, gyms, orienteers or simply just a family or friends group. Team members may run solo, in a pair or group but each will be required to run with MapRun on their phone / GPS-watch and post an individual result (which will be aggregated into the team score).
Your team(s) can be finalised & declared on the day of the event - team members should just enter the event on SiEntries individually as normal. Multiple teams from the same running club or group will be welcomed.
