Matlock Skyline Challenge for Derby MRT

There are two routes to choose from the Skyline which is 35km/22 mile circular route, mainly off road with 1000 meters of ascent, following the high ground around Matlock and Darley Dale. Or the Half Skyline 17km/11 miles with 500 meters of ascent.
Not sure which route is for you? No worries you do not need to decide until the morning of the event.
You can choose whether to walk or run it (or a mixture of both!), and you can do it solo, in a group, or make friends on the way round. It's an unmarked course, so you will need to be able to navigate, or enter with someone else who can navigate.
The route has been planned specifically for this challenge, and it's the 3rd year it's been organised as a fundraiser for Derby Mountain Rescue Team. In partnership with Ordnance Survey.
Reasons to accept the challenge:
- A fun day out, knowing that you are raising money for the Derby Mountain Rescue Team.
- Stunning route including pretty villages, stone walled meadows, moorland, woodland and even a castle!
- Finishers certificate
Start Times:
- Walkers start between 8am and 9am
- Runners start start between 9am and 10am
Under 18's are welcome to take part but must be accompanied by an over 18. If for whatever reason either the under 18 or over 18 has to retire part way round the other person will need to retire as well even if they are fine to continue.
