The route will cover the area of Charnwood, starting from Brush Bowls & Sports Club, heading up towards the Outwood’s, Blackbrook Reservoir, Mount St Bernard Abbey, (CP1) Bardon Hill, Copt Oak (CP2) then from here the short loop will go to Beacon Hill and back through the Outwood’s whilst the long route will proceed to Newtown Linford and into Bradgate Park then onto Cropston village (CP3 at Bradgate Arms carpark ) retracing steps back towards Bradgate Park, Swithland Woods, Woodhouse Eaves and finally back through the Outwood’s to finish back at the Brush Bowls Club HQ.

Start: Walkers from 07:00 to 08:00 with flexible start times
Runners from 08:00 to 09:00 flexible start times
Time Limit Based on 2.5-mile per hour Total time scale 11.5 hours.
Checkpoint 3 will close at 16.00 hours. Entrants arriving after this time will be retired. Long route entrants must arrive at Checkpoint 2 the cut-off point (12.5 miles) by 14.00 hours. Anyone arriving after 14.00 hours will automatically be diverted to the short route.
All entrants to finish by 18.30
Entry fee includes snacks/drinks at CPs and a hot meal at the finish. Certificate for all finishers.

All entrants must follow the route description checking in at all checkpoints. All retirees must inform an event official if need to retire. Event marshals are authorised to shorten route or retire anyone failing to comply with the event rules or who in their opinion is unfit to continue or unable to complete within the set time limit. The food provided at checkpoints cannot be guaranteed free from allergens.
Equipment
- To include: - Clothing and Footwear appropriate to the event, waterproofs, compass, whistle, torch, basic first aid kit, mug and one of the following maps: -1:50000 OS129 Nottingham & Loughborough Melton Mowbray or 1:25000 The National Forest OS Explorer 245 & Loughborough Melton Mowbray & Syston OS Explorer 246 Please bring your own copy of the route description. Electronic versions of route and maps are allowed.

Entries
- 16–17-year-olds are welcome but must be accompanied by a responsible adult/ legal guardian who is 18 years or older for the duration of the event
- Overall event limit of 300 No entries OTD
- You can cancel your entry with a refund minus a £2.00 administration charge - available until Saturday 28th February 2026. After that time the option to cancel / refund will no longer be available.
Insurance

Please note that non-LDWA members are not covered by the LDWA Insurance, but for £15.00 annually (DD) you could join the LDWA and would be covered by the LDWA insurance
Dogs
- Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be covered by public liability insurance and kept on a lead and under close control by the owner at all times.
