4th Mills n Moors Series
Join us as we connect tracks and green lanes that radiate from Orton a small Cumbrian village that is also in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We have three routes that take you out onto Great Asby Scar, an open and green landscape of limestone and moorland. It really is a very special place though one that is rarely visited.
So we have teamed up with the Village Store run by Neville and Jayne. They will serve you tea/ coffee and a cake if you need the fuel.
The Village Shop is well stocked with Cumbrian foodstuffs and everyday items so were confident you'll come out of the shop with some item or other. I got a local newspaper, pint of milk from the diary down the road and a wooden plaque on one of my visits!
Three routes
You receive all three gpx routes and choose which route best suits you / swap between them:
- 42km / 650 meters of climbing
- 52km / 930 meters of climbing
- 77km / 1,400 meters of climbing

Event Hub

The event hub is at The Village Stores & Post Office, The Square, Orton, Penrith, CA10 3RH
- No mass start as riders depart when they're ready anytime between 8am - 11am.
- Toilet facilities in the village
- Car / van parking nearby (a map will be sent to you)

Routes
- It is a self-guided ride with no way markings saying ‘Mills n Moors route'

You will receive all three gpx route files in the week leading up to the event

Its your choice which route to ride as any type of bike is fine on each route - gravel bike, e-bike, mtb.
- Minimum age of 12 years old when accompanied by a parent / guardian
On the day
- Doors open at 8am with tea / coffee / cake to help you get started
- Toilet facilities in the village square
- Head off when you're ready as there is no ‘mass start’
