Introduction
The Yorkshire Wolds Ultra is a 55 km circular route, starting and ending on the edge of Pocklington. It has been designed by us so that you get to discover the best parts of the Wolds. You’ll visit the picturesque villages of Givendale, Bishop Wilton, Kirby Underdale, Thixendale, Huggate and Fridaythorpe.
The route goes through some of the less trodden trails. Those places where the Way’s don’t take you. If you thought you knew the Wolds, think again. You’ll climb up hidden valleys that reward you with incredible views. You’ll run through wild grass meadows. You’ll visit those hidden gems. This course is packed with ascend to keep it interesting from start to finish.
If you are looking at this event as a first time ultra, we’ve made the cut-off extra generous with 12 hours to complete, so that you don’t have to worry about time. Better still, you’ll finish in daylight. All the information can be found on our website.
Tracking and navigation
- Premium OpenTracking GPS tracking with live timing and splits.
- Route available in OS via the OpenTracking website.
- We provide you with a GPX. In addition to this, we will add yellow tape and large yellow correx signs at key junctions.
Support
- First aid medical support.
- 4 indoor checkpoints with toilet facilities.
- All checkpoints fully stocked with vegan friendly and gluten free nutrition.
- The option of a non-returnable food drop-bag at one of the indoor checkpoints.
- 1 checkpoint will provide hot drinks.
Facilities
- Changing room and toilet facilities at the start and finish (plus showers at the end).
- Free parking on site.
At the finish line
- Finishers medal - and you get to choose from an eco-wooden medal or wildflower seed medal. You can also opt for no medal and we'll plant 3 trees instead.
- Waymark post trophy reclaimed from the Wolds if you podium in the female or open class.
- Technical tee as an optional extra – and you get to choose from unisex or female fit.
