Lakeland Paws: Dogs @ Dodd Double Header

This event is part of our Double Header and takes place on Saturday 9th May. The following event is on Sunday 10th at Whinlatter. For those wishing to do both events please book them separately.
This is our finale weekend of our 4th season of canicross races at Whinlatter Forest, Dodd Wood and Grizedale Forest. Each event follows the same format starts at 9am with individual starts for each athlete so that all dogs have the space they need to start safely. The courses are a mix of forest roads and trails. As the majority of this course is on wide trails we allow two dogs per runner, but please note there are some narrower sections and the final decent is relatively steep; you will need to go at your pace and not your dogs! Dogs must be run on a suitable harness. We have harnesses available to borrow provided by Non Stop Dog Wear if anyone needs one. Runners are welcome to compete without dogs too.
There are two course options. The longer option is an 8K loop with 370m of ascent. There is a shorter option, which avoids some of the ascent is 5K and 210m of vert. This is recommended for beginners or those seeking an easier route.
The event is chip timed and will be marked. GPX files are available to download too.
