One of our late summer / early autumn Sunset Spunch Series - making the most of the midweek evening daylight before the clocks go back. Get an early start and beat the dark or enjoy the sun setting before you return in fading light (hi vis clothing & torch necessary for later starters).

The usual 60, 90 and 120 min score course options (choose on the night itself).
Bag Drop, Loos, Start, Finish, Food & Drink all at the Tap House. Evening Spunch for runners & walkers, friends & families. Dog friendly too.
An early return to the Tap House in Buxton but this time for a beat-the-dark late September soiree and heading west. The more adventurous may make it to the (often overlooked) 500m high Burbage Edge Summit. It's an Ethel you know! Being Buxton - expect the unexpected. It could be a balmy evening with a glorious sunset. Or it could be snowing!
Within 30 mins from Leek, Macclesfield, Bollington, Disley, New Mills, Whaley, Chapel, Glossop, Bakewell & Ashbourne.
Run, jog or walk - suitable for road runners, trail runners, park runners, fell runners, adventure racers, orienteers, walkers, newcomers, and families alike. 2k to 22k, the choice is yours! Newcomers and locals always very welcome. Great for families and friends to do together. Suitable for all ages and abilities - lots of help available for newcomers. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
Start at your convenience anytime between 530pm & 730pm. (Last start for 90min course 715pm, last start for 120min course 645pm). Registration open from 530pm.
Beat the dark! Catch the Sunset! Sunset will be around 710pm and it will be dark from 745pm. Earlier starters may have the advantage of daylight throughout! Wear hi-visibility clothing and bring a torch / head torch if you expect to be still out after 7pm!
Navigating with a specially prepared map, visit as many checkpoints as you can in the time available, S-punching using the MapRun app on your smartphone, Garmin or Apple Watch.
A great Town & Country Spunch area from a super Buxton town centre venue. A complete blend of beautiful parkland, woodland, and open hill country with great views and all connected by interesting urban sections between. Hilly options and less hilly options - something for everyone.
Will you go west & take on the climb to Burbage Edge to go for the best view of the sunset (or maybe the closer Corbar Hill & Cross) OR both! Or stay low in the Wye valley through the delightful Pavillion Gardens perhaps returning via the lower slopes of Buxton Country Park? Even locals will likely discover new paths and places!
The Buxton Brewery Tap House will provide a warm welcome with a great vibe and excellent Food & Drink available after your run / walk. With a fantastic selection of Cask & Craft Ales, the Tap House has both indoor and (weather permitting) outdoor eating and drinking areas. The pub is child & dog friendly.
With over 60 Spunchpoints to go for - how many will you bag?
Convenient and inexpensive town centre and street-side car parking all within 2-10 mins walk. Some FREE parking is also available on nearby street / road sides.
Catch the Spunch Train. Buxton train station is just 5 mins flat walk from the Tap House, and it is well served by direct Trains from Manchester, Stockport and all stations on the Manchester to Buxton line.
Hope you will come along and give it a go.
