Fairlop Waters Country Park contains a former golf course gradually returning to nature, centred on an eerily abandoned driving range. It is largely flat and open, with a network of mown paths through very long grass. The golf course is dotted with bunkers, mounds, ponds and drainage channels, and contains patches of vegetation and trees. The east end of the park is wilder, with denser undergrowth and forested areas. It features a large boating lake surrounded by a gravel path, with an inflatable assault course floating on it - don't worry, that will be out of bounds, and no wetsuit is required!
Please note that, given the long grass and other vegetation, full leg cover is highly recommended!
