Tour of Pendle
Distance: 27 km / 16.8 miles
Climb: 1473 m / 4833 ft
This is an AL Fell Race, it is not a Long Distance Walk.
Experience and navigational skills are required and local knowledge an advantage. Have a day out in summer and recce the route. See the website for details.
The race is registered and licensed through the FRA and is organised in accordance with FRA’s rules and requirements.
Each runner must carry the following minimum equipment; waterproof whole body cover (with taped seams and integrated attached hood), hat, gloves, map of the route, compass (not electronic), whistle and emergency food.
Records are based on the 2015 course which is still being used.
This years race will start at 10:15am.
The head count before the start of the race will begin at 10:00am (approx. 30m from the Village Hall, 20m from the start). Access to this lane for “warm-ups” is not permitted.
The cut-off and closure of checkpoint 4 will be at 12:05pm, assuming the race sets off promptly at 10:15am. Running time, 1hr 50min from the start.
Anyone arriving at checkpoint 4 after it has closed will be directed back to Barley Village Hall where they must inform one of the marshals at the hall of their retirement and give them their race number.
