PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR SATURDAY 7TH JUNE. WE WILL TRY TO RUN IT IN THE AUTUMN. APOLOGIES TO THOSE WHO HAD ENTERED.
Kingdom of Fife Orienteers are staging an orienteering event in Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline, Fife.
This will be suitable for all abilities, from those just starting out to people who have been orienteering on many previous occasions.
If you are taking part in the Scottish Schools' event in the park on Thursday 5th June then this will be a brilliant follow-up for the whole family.
It’s a lovely park, especially for summer orienteering. It's got manicured rose gardens, open parkland, and an interesting, steeply sloping glen.
Start times will be between 11am and 12 noon. We will give you an exact start time a couple of days before the event.
There are three courses on offer:
YELLOW is suitable for beginners and juniors and is almost all on paths. It is about 1.5km long.
ORANGE is suitable for people who have done some orienteering before. It is about 2.5km long.
GREEN is best for people who have done fair amount of orienteering. It will be about 4.0km long.
All the maps will be on A4 waterproof paper at 1:4000 scale.
The meeting point is close to the park's public car park off Pittencrieff St (A907). Full details of how to find us and what to expect will be sent a couple of days before the event.
This is going to be great. See you there.
