Sheringham Park is the jewel in the crown of East Anglian forests. As the venue for last year’s Junior Home Internationals (JHI), this is a chance for competitors to run the same courses as the top British Juniors to see how you compare against them. The area has also been used for the JK and BOC in the past, it is delightfully runnable forest with a wealth of contour detail. Given the time of year, there will be areas of bracken, and some brashings, but courses have been planned to avoid the worst of these. Very few brambles anywhere. The bulk of the forest is mature deciduous, with some working coniferous plantations in the western section that will be reached by the longer courses, and also an area of open pasture to the north.

Full leg cover will be required.

Our use of Sheringham Park is contingent on complying with restrictions required by the National Trust. This includes the following:

Crossing points : Some fences must not be crossed except at marked crossing points. The standard crossing point symbol will be included in the map overprint, and control descriptions will include text reminders.

Map updated in summer 2024

Map scale will be 1:10,000 for Brown and Blue courses and 1:7500 for all other courses with 5m contour interval. Course maps will be slightly larger than A4 and will be printed on waterproof paper. Control descriptions will be text for white and yellow and IOF symbols for all other courses. Loose descriptions will be available in the start lanes.
