The Summer Turkey Trot is a 4 mile road race starting at Tricky’s Hotel, Bar and Restaurant , near Redruth in Cornwall, organised by Cornwall Athletic Club and is Round 8 in the Cornwall Grand Prix Series. The race starts at 7.30pm.

2025 is the 50th running of the Turkey Trot, covering both Summer and Winter races.
Registration
Race HQ is at Tricky's Hotel, Bar and Restaurant, Tolgus Mount, Redruth TR15 3TA.
Registration will be from 5.30pm in the Garden Room at Tricky’s.
Minimum age 15.
Entrants must collect their number and timing chip ankle tag on the day. Race numbers must not be folded, cut or mutilated in any way.
No entries or swaps on the day.
Parking is available at Tricky's. A baggage store will be provided in the Garden Room (baggage and contents are left at your own risk).
Race Categories
1st Male and Female - £50 Whirlwind Sports Voucher
2nd Male and Female - £30 Whirlwind Sports Voucher
3rd Male and Female - £25 Whirlwind Sports Voucher
1st, 2nd & 3rd Male and Female Under 20, Under 35 and Vets: 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 & 75+
1st 4 Male Teams (6 to count) and 1st 4 Female Teams (6 to count)
Presentations will take place at Tricky’s as soon as possible after the race.
All finishers will receive a medal (this is guaranteed ONLY to first 450 entries).
Chip Timing
The race will be chip timed however all placings will be awarded using gun to chip time. Timing chips will be worn on the ankle and must be returned at the end of the race.
MP3 Players
As this race is part of the Cornwall Grand Prix series it is required to implement certain series race rules. Following a decision made by the Cornwall Road Running Group all MP3 players and personal audio devices are banned whilst running in this race for reasons of health & safety, both yours and other competitors. When you wear such a device you are unable to hear other competitors, cars, bicycles or marshal’s instructions. Marshals will be placed around the route who will be noting any individuals wearing personal audio devices. If you are found to be wearing such a device you will be disqualified from the race.
Course
4 mile road race, following a left turn course from Tolgus Mount towards Illogan, Higher Broad Lane, Barncoose Terrace, A3047 before returning to Tolgus Mount. Please observe marshal instructions.
NOTE: Marshals CANNOT stop traffic. All runners are responsible for their own safety when crossing junctions etc (especially at the new housing estate junction after Barncoose Roundabout) and must check for vehicles and hazards before crossing. If not safe to do so, runners should stop and wait for cars to clear.
There are no water stations on the course.
Please also note that dogs, wheelchairs, wheeled carriages and cycles are banned and competitors cannot be accompanied or followed, either on foot or by vehicular conveyance of any description.
Transfers
If you are unable to run you can transfer/sell the entry to another runner up until midnight on 13th July.
