Kingdom of Fife Orienteers are staging an orienteering event at South Annsmuir Wood in Ladybank, Fife.
This will be suitable for all abilities, from those just starting out to people who have been orienteering on many previous occasions.
It’s a lovely wood. It’s a mix of old pine plantation, beech and silver birch. There are interesting remains of the Second World War defence line across the wood.
Start times will be between 11am and 12 noon.
There are three courses on offer:
YELLOW is suitable for beginners and juniors and is almost all on paths. It is about 2km long.
ORANGE is suitable for people who have done some orienteering before. It is about 3km long.
GREEN is best for people who have done fair amount of orienteering. It is 4.5km long. The area is bounded by the golf course and railways and so will be suitable for people trying Green for the first time, as you can't go too far wrong.
All the maps will be on A4 waterproof paper at 1:7500 scale.
The meeting point is off Golf Street in Ladybank. Full details of how to find us and what to expect will be sent a couple of days before the event.
This is going to be great. See you there.
