First used in the World Championships in 1999, and the venue where Yvette Hague won Britain's first WOC gold medal, Dallaschyle has varying runnability and a wealth of contour and rock detail, as well as a network of tracks and rides. Although parts of the forest have been felled and replanted in recent years, the courses bypass these, and plenty of mature forest remains.

Parking and assembly are in a field alongside a minor road. The event will be signed from the B9090 in Cawdor village. Campervan parking will be on hard standing at Cawdor Primary School, 2km from the assembly field along quiet roads and a farm track.

Event location: national grid ref  NH832491. What3Words  ///condiment.daredevil.perfume

Directions: The event will be signed from Cawdor.

Please arrive via the junctions at Cawdor///hamsters.decays.rucksack  and Inchyettle  ///fail.recover.forgives (compulsory) - this is the way the event will be signed. On leaving please leave the gate in a Eastward direction. There is no left turn out of the field.

Car Parking will be £2 per car for the farmer – please bring the correct change.

Camper Van and Minibus Parking: Due to the nature of the parking field, there will be a hard standing Car Park at Cawdor Primary School.  ///forest.surnames.swan This is a 2 km walk from the event parking and assembly. Please follow the route shown in the final details on the INVOC website on quiet country lanes. There is no overnight parking allowed.

Start times are 12:00 to 13:30. The start for all courses is 1.1km from Assembly, on a short taped route through woodland and then on forest tracks. The route to the start passes close to the finish and a clothing dump will be available.

Map: Selective updates 2025, pre-marked and printed on waterproof paper. Scales will be as per the Course Detail table. Contour interval will be 5m for all classes.

To aid clarity and avoid possible confusion with rock features, distinct vegetation boundaries are shown using green dashes, not black dots, and are used only where necessary (e.g. not between open land and forest).

Areas of fallen trees are shown either by solid green or by green hatching, depending on their density. Individual fallen trees are not mapped if they are easily avoided.

A non-standard dark blue is used for the magnetic north lines.

Registration:  Open at 1130 and adjacent to car parking this will be where enquiries/entry on the day/download/first aid will be located. There will be a car key drop. White and Yellow maps are to be collected here.

Download: Adjacent to car parking.

Starts: 1200-1400. All courses start at the same location 1.1km from assembly. Exit via a temporary style / fence crossing at the south-west side of the parking field & follow red & white tapes. The route to the start passes near the finish and there will be a clothing dump. Call-up will be 4 minutes.

Finish: The finish is remote and is approx. 800m from assembly and download.

An alternative route to both the start and finish for those less able will be on tracks and will take 20 mins.

Assembly: An area close to registration and download will be made available for club tents.

Courses Close: 15:30. Early controls may be collected before course closing time.

Prizegiving: The Prizegiving will take place as soon as possible after the last finishers and is planned to be around 3.30pm. Scottish Middle Distance Champions will be declared (assuming there are eligible winners) in the following classes:
