The Lets Run Adventures annual recce of the Hardmoors 55 takes place from Cod Beck to Helmsley.  It covers the part of the route that most runners will complete in the dark, over ascents at Black Hambleton and White Horse. The start will be at Cod Beck large car park just outside Osmotherley, North Yorkshire at 4.00pm on Saturday, 17th January, 2026

The bus will leave the Cleveland Way carpark in Helmsley, YO62 5AZ at 3.00pm, for those who wish to leave their cars in Helmsley at the finish. The bus is £12 per person.

The route will replicate the Hardmoors 55 route from Scarth Nick, through Osmotherley and up to Square Corner where there will be a CP with snacks and drinks. From there, you will follow the Cleveland Way and Hardmoors 55 route to Helmsley. When you reach Sneck Yate, you will be able to fill up your water bottles. There will be a further CP at  White Horse with water and refreshments. The distance is around 25 miles.

Runners will be divided into groups.  Each group will be led by experienced run leaders who have all completed this section of the Hardmoors 55.  This is not a race, it is a recce and there will be plenty of opportunities to re-group, ask questions and seek advice from our leaders to help you on the day of the  'main event'.  Each group will have sweepers to support you throughout the evening.

When you arrive at Helmsley, there will be soup and hot drinks available before you head home.

Maximum entries: 60
