The Kirroughtree Hillbilly Duathlon, Junior event, is a Run and Mountain Bike Duathlon organised by local volunteers.

The course is based around the Kirroughtree Visitor Centre, Palnure, Newton Stewart. DG8 7BE

There are 3 races this year, all on new run and bike routes. (All distances are approximate).

 8-9 years will compete over a 0.5km run x 2 Laps = ( 1Km ) and a 0.83 km bike section with 2 Laps = (1.66 Km )

U10 Run x2

10-11 years will compete over a 0.5km run x 3 Laps = ( 1.5Km ) and a 1.3 km bike section with 2 Laps = ( 2.6km )

U12 Run x3

U12 Bike x2

12-15 years will compete over a 2.5km run x 2Laps = ( 5Km ) and a 4.8km bike section with 2 Laps = ( 9.6km )

U16 Run

U16 Bike x2

Competitors can enter individually and do both the run and the bike sections or in a team of one runner and one biker.

Registration for both races runs from 9am to 10.30am

The 8 – 9s race will start at 11am on the dot 

The 10-11s race will start at 11.45am approximately or as soon as the previous race has finished 

The 12-15s race will start at 12.30pm approximately  or as soon as the previous race has finished 

Each finisher will receive a Kirroughtree Hillbilly medal. Gold, Silver, Bronze medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

Male & Female Categories: U10, U12, U14, U16

You must be over 18 to register on the system and make an entry on behalf of a rider.

The Mountain Bike Stage of the Junior Hillbilly Duathlon will take place over Blue Graded Trails and walking paths,

The Running routes are all on fire roads or walking paths  

 Blue Grades Trails are suitable for Intermediate cyclists or Mountain Bikers with basic off-road riding skills and for Mountain Bikes or Hybrid bikes.

Competitors must provide their own trail worthy bikes and must be wearing a helmet when competing. No Helmet, No Start.
