Terrain: The forest has a network of well established paths, with some less clear ones between them. Some areas of forest marked white on the map have heather which can slow progress, while areas marked light green have a fast running surface but low hanging branches. The map will be updated to show some changes to vegetation but there will be patches of unmarked impenetrable shrubbery - courses are planned to avoid these.
Maps: Pre-marked and printed on waterproof paper, scale 1:10.000 with 5m contour intervals.
Directions: Head south-west from Inverness on the B862 to Dores village. Parking signed in Dores.
Start / Finish will be about 10-15 minutes walk from the parking.
Toilets: None at venue.
Pre-entry Information: Please pre-enter here. Closing date: Sunday 8 December at 23:59. Some limited EOD may be available. Pre-enter to guarantee a map.
SI Cards available for hire for £1. Limited number of SIAC Air for hire for £3.
Safety:
- Courses close at 20:00.
- A whistle and spare torch should be carried.
- You MUST report to Download by 15 minutes after Course Closing Time, even if you have not completed the course.
- Competitors are advised to notify the Organiser of any relevant medical conditions.
