Helvellyn Sky Ultra Recce Weekend | Patterdale | 19-20 April | Guiding and transport ONLY

In Association with the Helvellyn Sky Ultra

 

Join us for a two day recce of the Helvellyn Sky Ultra race route and meet up with the 'Introduction & Advanced Skyrunning' weekend entrants as well.

This is a RECCE only. You are welcome to join the 'Introduction to Skyrunning' weekend for dinner, this will be in a local pub and will be for you to pay for in addition.

Please book your own accommodation.

Weekend Program: 

Day 1: Saturday 19 April 

• 09:00Meet Mountain Run guide, Hugh Chatfield [winner of the shortened 2023 race], who will be pleased to get you set for Recce Day 1
• 09:30: Set off with your guide for a cracking days running around the Central Loop of the Helvellyn Sky Ultra
• 15:30: Taxi Pick up at Univ of Cumbria, Ambleside - the taxi will take you back to your cars, so you can return to your accommodation
• Option to join the Skyrunning course for dinner in the pub [you will need to pay for your meal]

Day 2: Sunday 20 April

• 09:00 - Meet Dave Thorp, Mountain Run Guide and winner of the 2023 shortened course for the St Sunday Sky Race, at the KGV Playing Field cricket pavilion
• 09:30 - Set off in taxi's provided by us, to the mid-way station in Ambleside, to start your day
• 10:00 - Set off with your guide for a cracking days running around the Eastern Loop of the Helvellyn Sky Ultra - this is 'perceived' to be the benign part of the race route!
• 15:30 - Arrive back in Patterdale with all the Helvellyn Sky Ultra course done and feeling a lot wiser

 

The Full Helvellyn Sky Ultra - Day 1 & 2 Guiding - Both side of the course split over 2 days - £130

Helvellyn and the Edges - Day 1 Guiding ONLY - Patterdale to Ambleside - £70

Red Screes and Haweswater -  Day 2 Guiding ONLY - Ambleside to Patterdale  - £70
