This is a navigation score event using an OS Explorer map (1:12 500) based in and around Hamsterley Forest, County Durham. 35 mins from Darlington, 40 minutes from Durham and 1 hour from Newcastle, .
You can choose from 60, 90 or 120 minute course options and will have this amount of time to visit as many checkpoints as you can – collecting points as you go using the MapRun app on your smartphone.
The course options use the network of forest tracks, public rights of way and open access land. You can run, jog or walk the courses which are accessible for all abilities. If you have never tried a navigation event before – this is a great place to start!
No dogs allowed.
Parking is in the main car park. Fees will apply if you don't have a permit.
Public toilets are available.
Registration is at the Visitor Centre next to the Cafe by the main car park of Hamsterley Forest.
