IT IS STILL BEST TO USE THIS ON LINE ENTRY SYSTEM EVEN IF ENTERING ON THE DAY! ON LINE ENTRIES REMAIN OPEN ONLY UNTIL THE MAPS RUN OUT. Can be done solo, in a pair, or as a team of 3 or more. Each participant needs to put in an individual entry EXCEPT Under 18s who go for free with a paying adult. Juniors under 18 go for free but must run with a parent or guardian over 21. A waterproof map of the course is provided to ALL participants.

Sunday daytime Spunch Event as part of the New Mills Festival. Come and enjoy the scenery and views both within and around New Mills, followed by the opportunity to enjoy the Proms in the Park* after your run / walk.
We return to the New Mills Festival for a second year, with a different event centre, a different map area and lots more new checkpoints for you to find. An ideal introduction to Spunch events for local runners / walkers and their families enjoying the New Mills Festival, as well as experienced Spunchers from further afield.
1 hour / 2 hour / 3 hour hilly (and less hilly) score course options using a rich network of public rights of way, concessionary paths and open access land. Navigating with an enlarged and enhanced hybrid OS/OO map. Parking, Registration, Loos, Start, Finish, Food & Drink all at or near Millers Bar at the New Mills Football Club, Church Lane, New Mills SK22 4NP.
A Sunday afternoon adventure in and around New Mills. Starting and finishing at Millers Bar with food and drink available after your outing, with the opportunity to enjoy music at the adjacent Proms in the Park after your run / walk.
Within 30 mins from the M60 & M56 South Manchester Junctions. Within 30 mins of Wilmslow, Macclesfield, Buxton, Glossop, Stalybridge etc.
New Mills Newtown Train Station which is well served by trains from Manchester is just a 35 min train ride from Manchester Piccadilly and is about 1k walk from the event centre.
Run, jog or walk - suitable for all - fell runners, trail runners, park runners, adventure runners, orienteers, walkers, and newcomers alike. Great for families and friends to do together. Suitable for all ages and all abilities - juniors under 18 must be accompanied - lots of help available for newcomers.
Start anytime between 1130am and 1pm.
Registration open from 1115 am.
3 hour course participants must start before 1230pm.
5k to 25k, the choice is yours!
Visit as many checkpoints as you can in the time available, S-punching using the MapRun app on your smartphone, Garmin or Apple Watch.
The event centre at Millers Bar is our base and after picking up some points in the Sett Valley and through the impressive Torrs some of you will be heading up onto Mellor Moor with its excellent path network and superb views. Others may choose to stay longer in the valley picking up points in the wooded Mousely Bottom and / or Goytside Meadow. With over 70 Spunchpoints (checkpoints) spread out over an area of about 10sq km there will be plenty of options to keep you interested and challenged. There will be options to do more or less climbing and opportunities for fast running (or walking) on some great local trails.
After your outing - as well as the refreshments - there will be opportunities to compare routes and share success stories back at Millers Bar.
