Cumbrian Galoppen orienteering event at High Pike, near Caldbeck in the Northern Fells
Pre-entry available on all courses. For White, Yellow, Orange and Red courses there will be some entry on the day, subject to map availability (£10 senior, £4 junior, extra maps £1).

Field at Fellside, 3km SW of Caldbeck (Grid Ref: NY 305 376).

** Very Short Green - this is the same course as Short Green but with a loop at the end omitted. If you want to do Very Short Green, enter Short Green and pick up a Short Green Map at the start. The map will show which controls to miss. You can decide while on the course whether to take the Very Short Green cut-off.
++ Red - designed for FELLRUNNERS, new to orienteering, who want to tighten up their nav. It’s
long but not so fiendishly difficult! (Same technical difficulty as Orange)
Map
Brown, Blue and Red use a 1:10,000 scale map. All other courses use a 1:7,500 scale map. 5m contours. Control Descriptions will be printed on the map and loose descriptions will be available at the start.
Groups and Pairs / Extra Maps
If you are new to orienteering and would like to go round as a group or in a pair, just enter one person and use the option to select any additional maps that your group would like at £1 each.
Dibber Hire
Available by pre-order at no charge, £30 if not returned. To pre-order, leave the SI number blank during entry process, and then collect dibber from Enquiries/Download on the day.
Start and Finish
Start between 10:30 and 12:30.
The walk from the car park to the start is around 600m with 40m climb. The walk back from the finish is around 400m downhill.
