Orienteering is an exciting outdoor sport that exercises both mind and body. The aim is to navigate between control points marked on an orienteering map; as a competitive sport the challenge is to complete the course in the quickest time choosing your own best route; as a recreational activity it does not matter how young, old or fit you are, as you can run or walk making progress at your own pace on the courses planned to suit you.

This event is very suitable for complete beginners, those with some experience and the experts wanting to do some “sprint courses“ instead of going to the British Sprint Champs!

This beautiful Park has many attractions, especially for children, so bring a picnic and enjoy it!

Entry:

Pre-entries are strongly encouraged to simplify registration on the day, and to ensure that everyone gets a map. To assist late entries, we will keep on-line entries open until 21.00 the day before the event. There may be limited entry on the day, but only if we have spare maps.

If you are a newcomer to the sport and do not have an orienteering dibber (to record visiting the controls, also called an SI-Card) then please indicate that you need to borrow an SI-Card.

Pre enter by Friday 21st June on SI Entries

Fees: £6 adult / £3 junior – the fee is per dibber hired, so a group of say 2 adults and 2 children on 1 dibber is £6. Juniors who are members of SROC are free! (contact Development@sroc.org for more info)
