Local urban orienteering event in Alston as part of the North West Urban League (NWUL).
Everyone welcome. Either enter your age class especially if you are looking for points in the NWUL rankings, or one of the open courses if you would prefer.
Terrain: Urban, footpaths and parkland.
Courses:
Course 1 - 6.1km, 160m climb - M Open, M Vet 40+, W Open
Course 2 - 4.5km, 115m - M Supervet 55+, M Ultravet 65+ W Vet 40+, W Supervet 55+
Course 3 - 3.6km, 50m - M Hypervet 75+ W Ultravet 65+, W Hypervet 75+
Course 4 - 3.2km, 60m - M/W16-
Course 5 - 2.0km, 40m - M/W12-
The course lengths give optimum distance.
Note: Juniors aged under 16 on the day must run course 4 or course 5. These courses do not cross any main roads and are restricted to footpaths, parkland and a quiet housing estate.
Courses 1 – 3 cross several main roads through the town which can be busy at weekends. Beware of motorbikes and supercars!!
Starts: 11.00am – 12.30pm
The start is located 200m from the car park across a busy main road: juniors must be accompanied to the start.
There will entry on the day available for the junior courses (courses 4 & 5) but all other courses are pre-entry only.
